for personal growth and inner peace

Healing

Healing holds profound significance for every individual due to two fundamental reasons.

Firstly, not a day passes for anyone without experiencing some form of mental distress, however brief it may be. Since time immemorial, this has been rooted in our emotional reliance on a world characterized by people, objects, and events that are inherently unpredictable, inconsistent, and transient. Despite this, the notion of leading a life devoid of relationships is inconceivable.

Secondly, the dynamic interplay of three energy propensities, known as gunas, within our inner being that shapes our behavior and responses. These gunas—Sattva (S), Rajas (R), and Tamas (T)—constantly influence our thoughts, actions, and character, resulting in fluctuations. Healing and meditation practices address mental disturbances and mitigate the turbulence caused by these energy propensities. Specifically, they aim to enhance the ‘S’ factor, fostering positive emotions essential for navigating the world and deriving pleasure from material experiences.

Let’s Understand What is

Meditation

To meditate is to engage in deep thought, contemplation, and reflection—a fundamental aspect of humanity, whether in the pursuit of empirical knowledge within the realm of physical science or the exploration of metaphysical dimensions. In both endeavors, humans utilize their cognitive faculties to sift through myriad thoughts, seeking those that lead to profound insights into nature’s mysteries.

However, a significant number of individuals who are disenchanted with meditation are persons who have been subtly influenced by those with a superficial understanding of spirituality. Many practitioners prematurely abandon the practice due to disillusionment or because the outcomes fall short of their inflated expectations.

Nevertheless, empirical data within the field of medical science supports the notion that those who engage in meditation often experience heightened emotional control and a sense of tranquility. These benefits manifest during moments of inner silence when practitioners withdraw their senses from the chaotic external world. However, it’s crucial to emphasize that the original purpose of meditation wasn’t solely to seek temporary relief from stress or psychological distress.

Meditation possesses a dual nature, addressing distinct objectives.

Firstly, it aims to shape and refine the mind, preparing it for spiritual ascent. This process achieves three objectives: enhancing the quality of life without undue reliance on technology, attaining Jeevan Mukti (emancipation from the material world’s entanglements), and realizing Videha Mukti (liberation from the cycle of birth and death).

Secondly, meditation facilitates the transcendence of the material world to apprehend higher truths, capable of dismantling all obstacles on the path to eternal liberation, Nitya Mukti.

Practitioners need to be clear about the purpose of their meditation, which should include a defined goal, a starting point, and an endpoint.

Initially seeking guidance on fundamental requirements, practitioners can subsequently continue the practice through individual effort.
